Has anyone found an efficient/correct way to use reuse parts in other reuse parts to create reuse assemblies? Some of the reuse parts are simple assemblies themselves. I have found that for the Part Name Management dialog/settings to work all the reuse parts that are included in the assembly...
I got it to work, but I had to break all the variables down to separate expressions. It would be easier if I can create one formula expression for the "height needed"
Thanks, Fred
I am trying to create a formula in expressions to calculate the height of a tube given the outer radius, the inner radius and a volume desired. I keep getting syntax errors. The radii and the volume have there own expression establishing there values.
Thanks, Fred
No... I have a Mach 3 License with the PDW wizard, but I was told by someone at GTAC that the PDW wizard does use some pieces of Teamcenter.

I was curious how much time other peoples computers takes to open some menus, namely the customer defaults, file properties or file/new. I'm talking about when I have an empty file. On my machine it takes 1.5 to almost 2 seconds just to open these menus. I'm working in NX8.5 right now. Am I...
I am trying to make a custom command so that when i start the fillet/chamfer command it invokes the calculator inside of the radius/distance part of the command so that i can type in a value to get a metric result (3/25.4)....I have made custom value fillet/chamfer commands, but i cannot seem to...
How do I create custom Chamfer commands with different values. For instance I want a chamfer command for a 1/16” , 1/8”, 3/16”, and 1/4" I would prefer to have separate icons for each size. I'm having trouble with the exact syntax.
I am using AutoCAD Mechanical 2015.
Thanks John...I'm traveling tomorrow, so due to time constraints my VAR set me up with an emergency license for now, but we did get the ball rolling on acquiring a license file that allows 'borrowing' for next time....but ya know...I will be in the Cypress area...maybe I can just stop in the...
My NX CAD software is running on a Dell Precision T5500. I'm running NX 7.5, 8.0, 8.5 and 9.0 on this machine. I also own a Dell M4600 Precision Laptop. I need to be able to run at least NX8.5 on this laptop while I'm traveling. I already installed the LMTOOL and NX8.5 base and docs on the...
Good Morning John, thanks for the reply. I will move forward and install NX8.5 on the laptop. After I posted this I dug thru some old emails...and I was told a while ago you need 64bit office/excel when installing on a 64 bit NX install IF you plan on using the prog die wizard (PDW)....If...
If I install NX 8.5 (64bit) on a Windows 7 (64 bit) machine that has excel (32 bit) what functionality will I lose with NX? Will I still be able to open and translate files? Will I only lose the ability to use excel INSIDE NX?
I will be traveling and need to share my NX license on a laptop...
I just upgraded my Dell T5500 with a solid state hard drive...and it breathed more life into it...the investment in a SSD is definitely worth it...but looks like you need more RAM.

I did run the examine geometry...and when the check criteria is set as Distance .001 / Angle .500, I do get some Smoothness and Tolerances results under the "Edge checks/post check status" that apparently don't pass, but when i open the distance check to .0015...the tolerance under the same...
I'm using NX 8.0 for this project....I guess I'm still not used to calling it NX...
I did try to export the solids using the "Heal Geometry"...and then export as step, without much help.
Im willing to guess its an import issues with bobcad, but I would like to know if there are things I can to...
I have a customer that is using Bobcad V24 to program some 3d files I provided him in Unigraphics V8.0. He is having trouble programming the
geometry because there are holes in some of the 3d surfaces once he imports it. I am providing step files. I just want to cover things on my
end. Is there...
