How long does it take for some menus to open?

I was curious how much time other peoples computers takes to open some menus, namely the customer defaults, file properties or file/new. I'm talking about when I have an empty file. On my machine it takes 1.5 to almost 2 seconds just to open these menus. I'm working in NX8.5 right now. Am I wrong in expecting these menus to open instantly? I have a powerful 64bit Dell Precision 7810 with 32mg of ram but am beginning to suspect something is wrong with it. Also I have the Windows 7 Basic desktop theme applied.

Are you using teamcenter?

No... I have a Mach 3 License with the PDW wizard, but I was told by someone at GTAC that the PDW wizard does use some pieces of Teamcenter.

If you had teamcenter I would recommend cleaning out your Newstuff folder. This is what takes the file open box a long time to open up.

All of the dialogs you mention require reading files.
Are you perhaps on a slow network?

Look in the syslog for this area, and see if NX is looking somewhere slow for info:
No user customizations read from UGII_PACKAGE_DIR - environment variable is not set
No user customizations read from UGII_SITE_DIR - environment variable is not set
No user customizations read from UGII_GROUP_DIR - environment variable is not set
Processing customer default values file <IS THIS LOCATION SLOW?>NX100_user.dpv
