xemacs and Ansys

I am using xemacs to write ansys batch code and would like to be able to use all of the text highlighting features, etc. I was wondering if anyone has successfully done this, and if so, how? I have tried using the ansys-mod.el file that can be downloaded, but haven't been able to get it to work.
