I'm a mechanial guy working on a roller mechanism, and read that my mechanism uses a "dual frequency cycloid form."

What does this mean as far as the geometry is concerned?

What is a dual frequency cycloid? I understand a cycloid, but am failing to understand dual frequency.

Is it two seperate paths, or 1 that is driven by a dual rate speed?

There are cycloid drives that are used in sediment separators. They provide a high speed drive to in inner and outer component with a small but high torque speed difference between inner and outer. Two motors running at slightly different speeds are used - maybe this is the dual frequency bit?

If you Google "decanter centrifuge" you will see the idea...
