Weird house problem???

Today out of the blue three or four circuits are "browned" out. The lights
barely come on and the cooking stove doesn't fully heat. The breakers are
all on. The faulty breakers are all on the same side of the box but so are
some that are fully functional. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to
which are on and which are dimmed. Any ideas?

Atrautweiller,
If you still have power to read this then you are lucky,
I take it that A: your neighbours don't have this problem.
B: there is not a blown main fuse.

step 1: check those breakers again.
2: is the front of the fuse box warm.
3: does the power "flicker".

1: Solves the problem in the short term.
2: You got bad connections - get a sparky in DONT F** WITH IT YOURSELF
3: You really got bad connects failing breaker or bad phase connection.

My most sincere advise phone your local electrical tradesman or power company.
he potential (pardon the pun) for disaster is real even if the fault is small.

Let's know how you get on
