Hello,
I have a design problem:
I want to create a water tight seal using the elastic property of the gasket material. The gasket will be stretch to fit the perimeter of a frame and the elastic force of the gasket will be used as the sealing pressure. The frame is 12" x 9" square. If the gasket has a cross-sectional area of .09in2, what should the dimensions of the gasket be when it is not stretched?
I want to use silicone with durometer of 40 +/-5. This gasket will be molded.
Thanks,
NonLinearMind
