Is there a way to unload a file/part from catia so the file can be replaced without shutting down catia. In solidworks if you use: (file-close) from the pull down menu the file is closed and unloaded, if you just close the file by clicking on the x box in the upper right the file closes but is not unoaded from the session and can not be replaced. This doesn't seem to be the case with catia?

Thanks

If you are working in an Assembly you could use the Contextual menu --> Components --> Unload button.
You should have the top of the assembly active for this.

if you want to replace it, there is also a replace feature in assembly context

In my experience, if you "unload" the part, the memory used by Catia is not going down. (memory leak)
Therefore, I am shutting down catia every two hours.
