Hello Everyone,

I have accidentally done something I've never done before in Excel. I've turned off all my charts in a workbook. I still have all my data, but I cannot insert a chart. The icons on the ribbon for charts and illustrations are not active.

Does anyone know how I did this?

Sheet protection accidently turned on?

Don't you have any backup copies, previous versions, save as versions, etc?

indo habe some old versions. I could also just copy the data into a new workbook, but I am really curious what I did to turn this feature off.

I will check the sheet protection when I get back on my comouter. ThAnks for the suggestion.

Some other thing to try...

Office Button > Excel Options > Advanced > Display > Display options for this workbook: For objects, show: All

or because you have selected multiple sheets (you will see [Group] in the title bar) [Right-click a sheet tab > Ungroup sheets]

or because you have shared the workbook (you will see [Shared] in the title bar) [Review > Changes > Share Workbook> Editing: uncheck the checkbox]

Thanks Karmoh,

It was the first suggestion you posted... much appreciated.
