ok, so i have two curved profiles that I'd like to loft together to make what i can only describe as a chunk of a football in the end. I have a JPEG of the two profiles and the guide profiles on the existing part below.

I am getting errors saying "all profiles must be closed", "all profiles must be open", and something to the tune of profiles will be self-intersecting...

Any help you can give me on a command to achieve this would be awesome. All suggestions are welcomed. Thanks.

i'll do a search on "pierce constraints." i have to say that's the first time i've heard the term.

holy crap dude. i was looking for a suggestion, not a spoonfed solution, but thanks anyway. it is much appreciated!!

TurboLS,

If you hang around here long enough you'll realize that:

A) CBL doesn't really care about your problem, he's just fishing for stars. (I'm guilty of feeding his habit from time to time)

B) CBL needs more to do. [poke]

dgowans,
A star for you for making me laugh on a Friday morning. Oh my god..........that was a funny comment about fishing.

Good to hear. I'm in that kind of mood this morning - a bit overwhelmed by the ton of crap on my plate, so I need a laugh every now and then. It's often at someone else's expense, but you'll have that.

Check thread1010-202142 for more...

dgowans,
I'm in the same boat as far as workload. I'm juggling at least 5 programs just to keep the customers happy. That's why I haven't been around so much lately. I decided this morning I'm drinking coffee and talking with my homies on eng-tips. Love the link, and thanks. Number 11 was my favorite.

11. I like you. You remind me of myself when I was young and stupid.

This could also (prefereably, in my book) be done as a sweep with guide curves.

[rofl]

A picture is worth a thousand words. I find it easier to draw an explanation rather than describe it in words.

dgowans ... Thanks for feeding the addiction. [lol]

After what seems like ages, I'd like to say thanks for the help. I finally got the drawing of that part done (a side project at home, not my primary breadwinner, mind you!!)

On to the next 5 or so part now, lol.

CBL your a customer Dream come true (If you worked for a VAR)! I won't finish or build a customers part for him/her. I feel they need to figure it out... I will help them all I can with screen shots and AVi files... maybe even a remote session into their system, but I won't do a model for them. They don't learn if you do it for them. Its a life lesson you have to teach your kids and have to be taught when your a kid. This is still true today in the work place. People have had things handed to them and they still expect that. Don't expect it from me. Maybe that's why my star count is low, but at least I am not fishing like CBL is!! [lol]

I was on top for a few years... oh well everything has to stop some time.

hehe, i moderate a forum in a completely different area and I know how annoying it is when people ask for spoonfeed demando answers. However, I also realize that pictures and more in depth information helps when I can sense people truly want to learn a particular subject.

Scott ... hey, I learned from the best here at Eng-Tips ... one of them being you! At one time I remember you creating videos to answer some problems. [lol]

The image above probably took as long to create as it would have to type a detailed reply. I rarely get the chance to play with surfaces, lofts and sweeps, so it's good practice for me too.

I used to enjoy real fishing as a kid. I don't have the time now. I guess the stars will have to suffice. Now if I could only find a store where I could redeem them for something.

[cheers]
