Trimmed Detail View Boundary

Is there a way to have a circular detail view boundary where in the detail view the boundary is trimmed at only the visible geometry. (Using NX 9)
Example:

Instead of having the boundary wrap around where no geometry is shown.
As shown here:

Hi Reconbomber,
The only way i am aware of it is to use a BREAK LINE/DETAIL option in View Boundary.
Change the scale accordingly.

For Break Line/Detail function do I have to physically draw the boundary?

Ewh,
How would I use the View Dependent Edit function to edit the boundary?
All I can seem to do is erase is completely.

Edit Object Segments
Then pick invisible

you will need to RMC on view and
Convert to Independent Detail

Jerry1423 Thank you!! That worked out perfectly.

Now to submit an ER to Siemens to make this automatic so it follows the ASME standards.
Might see it in 10 years.

Which ASME standard are you referring to ?

I believe it's Y14.3. At least that's the justification one our checkers used for view display types.
I'll need to go look through it and see if I can find the section.

As usual, the standard includes the statement "The figures in this Standard are intended only as illustrations to aid the user in understanding
the practices described in the text."

As to Details, the standard states:

"In areas where clarification is necessary or to better
illustrate a complex configuration, a detail is shown on
the drawing graphic sheet to show small features at an
increased scale and provide additional information. See
Fig. 7-9. Details when used in saved views may be at
an increased magnification but the geometry scale is the
same as the model.
Figure 7-9 shows a detail. It also shows additional
information since the fastening device is included. View
and zone referencing as described in paras. 6.2 and 6.5
may be used. The scale of the detail shall be noted."

I do not find anywhere in the text that proscribes only showing the detail outline where it crosses a solid body.
I have seen it done multiple ways, and don't believe that any of them actually went against the text of the standard, as their intent was clear.
