I would like get opinions on what the top 10 critical enhancements to FEMAP should be for the upcoming releases. It appears UGS wants to make it seem like they can enhance FEMAP quickly. I am all for it but do not want to see everything for NX Nastran's benefit when there is so much lacking with regards to CAD integration and meshing. My hope is that UGS will see this and respond by listening for a change.

Just a few ideas to get things started:

When using the Remesh-Refine command I would like the load on the line elements to be updated. Like it is when using the Editing command for plane elements.

Also, a new editing "shape" where a triangle is split into a triangle and a quad. This is probably only applicable for interactive editing.

A command similar to remesh and editing that works for solids. For example to remesh all second order elements using the midside nodes as basis for the splitting.

Som kind of load combination table that simplifies the use of SUBCOM and SUBSEQ.

A possibility to choose the vectors to be included in a Process-Envelope command. To speed things up.

I have used Femap and MSC Patran since -95 and the only detail I miss is combining elements, like in Patran utilities (user made macros). Rather than new technical details, I'd like to see once in my life a program update, that doesn't stop the company working for two weeks (or even more if you need to wait for new security dongles from the US).

Not much activity but I have another request.

The Options-View options - Deformed style - Scale command controls not only the scale for a deformed model but also the scale for the beam diagram. I would like to have these two separated so I can have different scales for the two entities.

Regards

Thomas
