I'm designing parts to be machined out of Ti-6-4. Was curious if there is a common or a standard callout for finishing machined titanium parts.

I'm aware of the ASTM B600 standard for descaling and cleaning titanium but am not sure if that is used on drawings for machined parts or if there is some other common callout similar to AMS 2700 for example, that's used for passivating SST parts.

There is no similar spec for Ti.
Unless some special finish is required a max roughness is usually all that is stated.

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for but we reference ASTM F86 for medical implant applications. The passivation portion is the same as Nitric 2 from ASTM A967.
