Is is possible to design a nozzle on head offset by XXX" and 45 degrees to the vessel longitudinal axis ? This is
very common situation while designing a vertical reactor with dump or withdraw nozzles on the bottom head> Thanks in advance.

COMPRESS does not provide an option to model "tilted" nozzles on heads.

However, you can likely model the nozzle as a radial nozzle whose chord opening matches the largest chord opening of the actual nozzle.

Two issues will be involved: (1) providing reinforcing area for the head opening per UG-37, and (2) ASME rules for the nozzle neck itself.

Modeling the nozzle with largest chord opening of the actual nozzle will meet the requirements of issue # 1 above but will be conservative for issue # 2.
