Ternary - anyone?

I don't need the basics of ternary. But I need a reference to a text where it is shown how to add/subtract +1/0/-1, +3/0/-3 etcetera (in Excel would be nice) so I don't have to hand-calculate a zillion combinations. I started to make mistakes at +81/0/-81.
Google says a lot about ternary - some references seem to mean that it is a really bad case of being binary. And I guess it would be.

Not quite what I was looking for. This seems to be how to produce graphs where three variables make up the whole. I guess like a color diagram or similar.

I need to find out an (a/b/c)^n*3 pattern so I can combine -/0/+ windings having ternary weighted voltages. That would make a "Squariac" (square Variac) an easy matter. I have one with 40 steps and when I started with "project better resolution", I got "ternary" myself. Hence the wish for an algorithm. Or do I have to use whisky to clear my mind? Even if the Doctor says no-no. One wee dram can't hurt. Can it?

I like to think of whiskey by going to its roots, distilled grains right? How can concentrated whole grains be bad for you? Especially if taken as a "wee dram"? At least that is how my Irish friends used to tell me how the think about it.

I was wondering if this was going to work for you, the guy I got it from used to develop rocket fuels when it was a new game. He said he thought there was a Matlab program that may do what you want, but his memory is a bit fuzzy (he's 94 and I hope I have as good of a brain as he does even 10 years from now).

OK, I made it by hand. Finally. I think that the scotch I secretly helped myself to gave me strength. The observation that there is a repeating pattern in the connection pattern may also have helped. Now, it's about testing the "long one" IRL. Have not got that far. Yet.

I tell you what, Mike. The processing makes the grain more brain-friendly. Imagine eating all that grain as it comes from the fields. I do not think it would be good at all. Not even as grits/porridge. So the processing adds something - not sure what it is.

Isn't distillation essentially an act of purifying? Eating grain straight up may be fine for horses and cattle, but isn't the pure goodness after distilling and bit of aging really getting you the best of what the grain has to offer?

See for yourself, you were stuck, not thinking as well as you could have, properly applied "brain lubricant" in the correct amount appears to have helped. The goodness of grain!
