Serious Question:

In the world of threads, can a 3/8-24 SAE nut join and live happily everafter with a 3/8-24 UNF-2A STUD. Or should only UNF 2A meet other UNF's for proper joining and connections.

We are experiencing stripped STUDS/UNF using ESNA/SAE nuts and are trying to find a possible cause. We currently do not have GO NO GO gages on either, which logically will soon be corrected.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

3/8-24 SAE nut should be happy with the 3/8-24 UNF-2A stud. The SAE nut is most likely 2B tolerance.

Stripping threads sounds like overtightening problem or poor stud material.
