stepped section view nx8.5

NX 8,5,3mp4 well I'm starting the section view command in nx8.5 from context off a standard view.
1. picking the first location
2. define the hinge line
3. create the 2nd step location... now the first location is jumping away -> what went wrong in my workfow?

my guess is that the 2nd location is outside of where NX is assuming the step is for the first location.
What I would do in your situation is place the cutting plane (section) line (and view) down with only the first location, then edit it with the second location added.
