speech ICs,asic 1

Just opened up" EASY" ( Staples) button. Found a potted speech oscillator IC, Potted on board, 8 pin?
Any ideas what it could really be? To small for an IC, too few pins for a speech syn.

If you want to do such circuits with normal leaded IC, Winbond has a line of speech ICs.
