Hello all,

Has anyone had any experience of running Solid Edge v18 on a Windows XP x64?

We have a box which we tried to install it on but it whinges about not being able to find a valid licence whereas we've had no problems in the past on 32-bit XP.

Any experiences?

Thanks :)

You might need a new license file for 64 bit version.

Where would we be without sat-nav?

I think we did, or maybe we didn't get our 'super computer' with the 64bit until we were on V19.

Anyway, as beach says there may be a license issue, or maybe 19 was the first version to support 64bit, I can't recall.

According to our IT dept 64 bit XP is a bit of a pain generally, and certainly Solid Edge V19 is a touch unstable on it, although, in fairness, most of the stuff we do on that machine is pushing the limits.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help. With support having long since gone, I suspect getting an appropriate x64 license willbe virtually impossible.

Ah well, never mind.

You can still run 32-bit SE on 64-bit XP but obviously you will not get the same performance improvement.
