I've converted sldprt (SW parts) in V.18 using the feature recogniser, and it worked fine.

I've tried this in V.19 and it doesn't seem to recongise anything, and brings it is as a solid body feature.

Has anyone else had problems with this recently?

Have you got the 'use feature recogniser' option activated in your convert options ?

Hi,

when you go File --> Open and select .stp and then
select a file of type the option button will become
active. Press it and voila there is an option to
use FR or not. You must, however, either have the
SE Classic which does include FR or bought it as
a seperate Addon

It's greyed out so I guess I have to install that add on. Does this improve the quality of the STEPS being imported??

I have SE Classic, I did use feature recogniser, and it still does not recognise anything.

When I go through the convert procedure, before I click on finish, the feature library is greyed out - is this supposed to be the case?

The feature recogniser is blue, and when I click on this it just shows a bodyfeature_1.

I know the part I am translating has threaded holes etc., but it just doesn't want to know.

Is there something else in SE that I have turned off?

In V19 the Feature Recognizer toolbar does not appear automatically as it should.

Before clicking Finish go to View-Toolbars and check Feature Recognizer. Now you should have a toolbar that gives you the options you need to complete the Feature Recognizer process.

ksudavid,

Thanks for the tip, that's all it was - I don't rememeber having to bring up this toolbar in v18.
