I have a property in California farm country. for many years before I bought the property the county had stored pea gravel in huge piles on my property and theirs. each time they would remove the gravel they would leave the dust so that now I have about 4" of solid rock dust over a 1/2 acre area. I have been having a lot of health problems because of this dust but I have only recently made the connection.

I want to make sure it is the silica rock dust and not asbestos or some chemical in it that is causing the problem.
I would like to send samples somewhere but I have not found a place that tests for all 3

I did have the soil tested at but they only test for farm chemicals and everything came back negative.

is anyone on this forum interested in testing this?

thanks
steve

Contact Amec or Terracon in your area. Both can do the testing you desire. Asbestos is likely not an issue. Silica from rock dust can be, but you already know that you have that from the aggregate breakdown.

thanks DlK and RON

I will try those places
when I was searching I was only able to find air quality testing.

x-ray diffraction will give you an answer. Just need to find a lab that does that! They are out there though!
