...And I want to make it easy for manufacturability for the first shot - and I want a very slight score mark for where one part should be welded to another. (This won't be necessary after this first run.) - Is there a way to call out such a 'score mark?'

You can specify a groove with a small but sloppy width and depth. Specify an appropriate location tolerance for it. As yourself what your fabricator can do with a scribe.

Yes, a machinist can score it during the machining of the part. It can be programmed to be on the exact spot for both parts.
If not for production, leave it off the drawing and add it on the setup sheet for the machinist.

Good point. But if you feel like having it on the drawing you may add note like "SCORE MARK PERMISSIBLE" or "NON-MANDATORY REQUIREMENT".
That will tell manufacturer that both parts with or without score mark will be accepted.
