Hi,

I want to apply a sinusoidal load to a plate for a transient analysis. I know how to apply a constant load, but how do I vary the load over time?

I'm an Ansys beginner, so thanks for the help.

Hi,
define a function with the function editor, then read it into a table. Then, when applying the load, instead of "constant value", select "existing table", then choose the previously created table from the listbox.
The analysis type will be transient, you will have to choose a total duration and a timestep.
If you have load(s) acting sinusoidally all with the same frequency, then an harmonic-response analysis is preferable by far (unless you have non-linearities in your model).
Please refer to the ANSYS manual, since all these are not so immediate concepts...

Hi,

If the load is sinusoidal you can also try a harmonic analysis.

Alex
