Our business team is looking at using servo presses instead of pneumatics / hydraulics for an assembly operation. We feel that the this would elimunate the need for additional error-proofing (i.e. load monitoring, part presence, etc.)
What is the downside to use of these presses? What are the failure modes, mean time to repair, etc. compared to other methods?
