seek help about document 1

Hello, everyone,
I am using abaqus, and two questions I have need your help.
One is that I cannot search in document. I don't know the reason when I search on the box, the only result is 'User Assistance Full-Text Search'.
Another is I have strongly thought to use python and fortran, could anyone have experiences give me some great ideas. Of course, basic syntax of python and fortran95, I have already learned.

Are you using the online docs at help.3ds.com?

I don't know what you plan to do with Python and Fortran.
Python is used for automating pre- and/or postprocessing in A/CAE. Fortran is used to write User Subroutines for the solver. Both have their sections in the manuals.

Why do you wish to use Python and FORTRAN with Abaqus?

I am biased but I think the 3DS user interface sucks; I just search for a documentation server in a search engine.

Did you get to this page from the Help menu in Abaqus or by running the "Abaqus Documentation" shortcut in the windows menu (i.e. Start Menu)? I've noticed that when I use the Help menu in Abaqus everything works fine. But when I try to run it through the windows menu nothing comes up.
