SCBF Bracing Configuration Allowed?

Hello all!

I have a question about the attached bracing configuration for a SCBF system. For a SINGLE story structure, would this bracing configuration violate the requirements of section 13.2c of AISC 341-05? In my opinion, it does violate the requirement because the load path will result in the tension brace resisting 100% of the total horizontal force, V as it travel from roof to foundation. Thoughts?

I think that 13.2c has nothing to do with this.

I would say, in a SINGLE story structure, that this configuration clearly violates 13.4b - K-Type Bracing, unless you had diaphragms at each beam level.

I agree with jittles; it looks like k-bracing unless the columns are braced out-of-plane at the brace connections. If it is a three story frame with diaphragms at each level and it is the only frame along the grid line, then 13.2c would apply and brace compression strength would need to be designed with an amplified seismic load.
