Saving Macro Keys 1

Does anyone know how to save the programmed macro key commands? When we do a full reinstall of SolidWorks, we have to reprogram the macro keys using the customize dialog box. We do use the swOptions.reg file to keep the standard settings, like arrow and text sizes. I have talked to our VAR about this; they always point us back to the swOptions.reg file. Bradley

There is also a file in the Solidworks install directory/user/***.cus (where *** is users login name). I haven't tried it but, Solidworks claims that customized menus and keyboard shortcuts are stored in this file. Copy the file before upgrading and after install copy it back into the same directory. Hope this works.

Thanks, you cannot imagine how much work you saved us. I opened the file using notepad and the names of my keys are in there. We have 19 seats of SolidWorks and all of us use the same keystrokes. I will be coping a standard file to everyone’s C:\ drive from now on.

Jimijames is correct. I have saved out this file several times before I was upgraded to the next version of SW and all my keyboard macro assignments were still there. However in SW 2003, with the new macro tool bar, I lost all my settings to the buttons.
