Rupture Disk - Safety Valve Combinations

When calculating the friction loss associated with a rupture disk, I try to locate acual vendor data.
But about half the time, the information is not available.
So with no information I will typically use 75 pipe diameters.

Recently, I was informed that I should use Kfactor = 2.4 based on ASME Code.

Afterwards I learned about Kfactor = 1.5 based on API Code.

Would anyone else share "what to do" with no vendor information?

ASME is Code, API is NOT. I always recommend using 2.4 from Code. However, you would be better off choosing a "conservative" combination from your company's (or client's) list of preferred vendors. If you still have none, then go with the 2.4 value.
