Heads up that RISA 3D v19 is out.
An unpaid plug for RISA:
1. Over the last few months, I've sent their tech dept 3 complaints / suggestions about new features that would make RISA 3D better.
All 3 were incorporated into this version. These guys actually listen.

2. RISA seems to be the most honest with version updates and their bug fixes. Modern software is incredibly complex, and even with robust in-house checking, there will be bugs in every release. RISA lists these bugs with each release. I'm sure these lists are not exhaustive, but their transparency is better than the industry average for sure, and I don't think any of their competitors do the same - at least to the same degree.

Now they just need to add more non-linear features.

I am anxiously awaiting 19.0.1 to be released as the report printouts for 19.0.0 (I skipped over 18 after the very buggy first release was so laggy, so not sure if it had the same issue) are not reporting the basic load case that loads are assigned to right now (so there is no way to tell in the report what loads are what).
Yes, RISA is aware of the issue and they said it will be fixed in the next release. Hopefully it will include some of the other enhancements users are asking for as well. I'm curious, what were the 3 things you asked for? I recently gave them a list of requests and they seemed to be open to them, will be interesting to see if any of them get picked up.

Agree on the non-linear features part - I have been considering transitioning over to SAP2000 to take advantage of some of the more robust non-linear features it offers.

My requests were for better graphic presentation of loads, and a couple of requests for solid (8-node "brick") element functionality and editing.
It is possible I got lucky, and my requests were one of many requests to enhancements that were already pending.

a couple of requests for solid (8-node "brick") element functionality and editing

That's probably the case with the 8 node brick elements. Solid Elements were added in version 7.0... Maybe 12 years ago or so (assuming 1 major release per year). A lot of the enhancements for Solids that came in the latest release were mapped out way back then. Corner Forces, Internal Force Summation Tool, Material Take Off. I might have even been the person to write up those enhancement requests / specifications.

Note: If I remember correctly, the internal Beta version of 7.0 actually had a Solid Element Spreadsheet. But, it was turned off because the lead developer was concerned about users manually changing the joints using that spreadsheet which could really cause element issues with Solids. So, turning this on would have been pretty easy. Personally, I'm glad they added it back in. I just don't like anything that's too "black box". I want to be able to see the basic information.... even if I'm not allowed to edit it.

It is much improved over the v18 release. Especially the lagging, although it still exists to an extent.

I have finally jettisoned v17 and have been using v19 for about a week. I like many of the new features, but it has a major flaw that makes the experience just brutal over the course of a workday. Trying to select something takes way too much effort and it when you do finally manage to select it, it isn't exactly obvious. The pleasant tactile interface of the old RISA has been replaced with an interface that is frustrating and inconsistent in responding to mouse clicks.

Does the interaction with RISA Foundation and RISA Connection work in version 19?

Yes for Foundation. The reason I started using v19 is because I upgraded to the new foundation version, only to find out it wasn’t compatible with RISA-3D v17. So My hand was forced.

Not sure about Connection, but I believe it is also integrated now in v19.

Thank you both. I've been waiting for that before diving into the updated interface.
