Return Bends on pendant type wet sprinklers when the network is supplied by raw water sources. Return bends are also not necessary on wet systems that use a potable water supply.
There is insistence about their use for the reason that, black steel pipes would eventually corrode on the inside and could then possibly interfere with proper sprinkler operation. Does this extra contingency measure justify the cost of providing the return bends, given that the space above the false ceiling is already constricted? Are return bends definitely optional or are there areas where these are mandatory? THANKS.
