1. How do I remotely connect to an A-B PLC5?
2. What types of modems/cables and configuration is needed at the modem end and in the PLC?
3. Is there any specific ladder logic needed to support the modem?
4. Is it possible to use this remote connection to upload/download files to a Panelview that is connected to the PLC5 via DH+?

Thanks in advance.

AB makes a modem that connects from the PLC5 to a regular analog phone line. Call your local AB distributor.

Another way would be if the customer has the AB software on a PC dedicated to the PLC5, at the plant site. Load PCAnywhere on the local PC and set it up as the Host in PCAnywhere and connect it to the phone line. Run the host and it will go into a Call Waiting mode. Load PCAnywhere on your local computer and set it up as a Remote. Then have the Remote computer call the Host and you will be able to control the Host computer just as if you were in front of it. You only need the AB software running on the Host computer.
