Our company makes rubber mats. Recently we were approached by a company that claims to make pellets of devulcanized rubber from scrap tire rubber. We were able to get the product to calendar and cure in some of our trial runs but would like to test their claim to understand the constituents and the extent of devulcanization in their product. We tried some rheometer tests but since a large percentage (~ 85%) of virgin rubber was mixed into the test specimen, we are unsure what the role of the recyled material in the cure curve is. What tests would help us understand this product better? I will be happy to answer any questions you have.
