Ram Concept Problem 1

Hey guys,
We are trialling ram concept and keep encountering a problem. Im doing the most basic of slabs (say 2m square, 200 thick), supported on columns in each corner. Before I run the design I put in N20@300 top and bottom for reo, with the top bars cogged 90 degrees and the bottom bars straight.

Even with this huge overkill of reo it keeps adding program reinforcement to each face and when I check the detailed status it says 9.4.1 is governing, which in AS3600 is the min reinforcement requirements. Obviously in reality this is satisfied, so I am not sure what is going wrong? I have unchecked the "consider as post tensioned" box for all strips.
Cheers

If the design strips extend out to the very edge of the slab, and if there is any moment at that point, then the code will require some minimum rebar. But the user bars might not be fully developed (or can’t be developed) so the program adds more reinforcement, maybe anchored bars. I usually find it OK to pull the design strips back from the edge a few inches (maybe 15 cm) just to avoid this ambiguous condition.

There are other possibilities, of course, like a problem with the user defined bars not being modeled properly, but that’s the most common issue.
