Hi
I am a relatively new user of FEA. I am using MSC Nastran for windows.
I am working on a solder joint modelling. As a first step I have picked a very simple model, to learn the technique to solving a joint.
The model consists of a lead-tin plate sandwiched between two copper plates. I am assuming a perfect bonding between the plates.
I am loading the part in tension.
I have checked for coincident elements.
When I run the analysis, I get fatal errors. The number of fatal errors is always equal to the number of coincident points.
I understand I have to connect the coincident nodes. But I don't know how to do it correctly.
Any help in this will be appreciated. Are there any articles that tell how to analyze bonded structure?
Thanks in advance.
