Pump and motor information 1

Can anyone direct me to a site that explains to me the difference scroll type pumps, root pumps, and other basic pump types. I would like to see diagrams if possible but text is fine too.

I am also interested in diagrams and explanation about linear motors and other basic motors.

has pdf files that show most different types of pumps and their components. The site is quite comprehensive

from Brazil has a neat little free add-in program for autocad which will draw most common sizes of motors for you. Machinerys Handbook also lists common motor sizes. There are also special motors for pumps, which have standard cases but special shafts. These are detailed in the weg catalogue but are not shown in the add-in program.

as for linear motors I'm not sure I know what they are, but a half an hour searching on the web would probably give you plenty of interesting sites and answers.
