printing fine encoders (>300 lpi) 2

I have to find a way to print some encoder wheels with very fine resolution. Encoder (Avago AEDR-871x) is picky, and reads in neighborhood of 300 LPI --> one line is 1/600 inch (1/24 of a mm for those dwelling in civilised places).

I have a couple vector files to test print. Going to get some better paper and mylar and also try some print boutiques.

Anyone have experience with similar?

You may have better luck doing it with conventional photochemistry (i.e. using photo reduction to expose film/photo paper)? Best laser prints I know of only get up to 1200 dpi, so a 1/600 line may not resolve.

Try U.S. Digital. They printed a mylar encoder disc for me with 3600 tracks on an 81mm diameter. I have notes on my specification about Avago being a renamed Agilent division, which is a renamed Hewlett Packard division. I cannot remember why I noted this.

US Digital. They have an OTS 2" disk with 2500 ticks, so by my calculations that's about 800 lpi.
