PMI identifier order 1

Does anyone know how to re-sequence PMI after deleting some of them? See attached.

NX adds an identifier to each PMI entity but after you delete some they aren't sequential any more. I had a request to re-sequence them in order but I'm not sure how?

In the attached simple example the PMI are numbered 1,4,5,6 instead of 1-4.

I don't think that's possible and I suspect that it's 'by design' (so as to assure that once created the PMI object will retain both a uniqe and presistent identifier).

That being said, I have to ask: WHY are you being asked to re-sequence them? What is it about the missing numbers that is causing someone discomfort? Is it just ascetics or is there some functional reason for this concern?

Thanks for your response.

Its an aesthetic thing mostly. Some engineers want to identify PMI for quality/inspection and would like sequential identifiers on a new part before its release release. Like all things someone will always ask if its there.

You may have answered your own question with "Some engineers want to identify PMI for quality/inspection and would like sequential identifiers...". If it was easy to change the sequence numbers this could invalidate any written or worse yet, coded-procedures which depended on these numbers, which is why I made the comment about them being both "unique and presistent".
