Agree - How do you Select electrode or filler meatal?

You define your two materials then give it to a metallurgist / materials engineer or welding specialist and let them decide.

Unless you are or want to become one of those people, leave it to them. It is part science, part art IMHO.

If you want to be one of those people then you need more training that we are not in the business of providing. sorry.

What are your dissimilar metals? S235 to S355 requires another approach than steel to aluminium, just to give two examples that are extremely different.
