I would like to find PLC system with CANopen functionality and Marine Certified.

certification for use in Marine Industry can be by any or all of the following agencies:
? ABS (American Bureau of Shipping)
? BV (Bureau Veritas)
? DNV (Det Norske Veritas)
? GL (Germanischer Lloyd)
? LRS (Lloyds Register of Shipping)

- any advice?

There are lots, but which one is best suited to your needs and budget depends on the application.
ABB AC500
Siemens S7
Modicon M340

This list goes on..

My requirements are actually quite modest:
I need single controller and 3 clusters of I/O's with up to 20 digital I/O's (mixed in different combination) per cluster and 2 Analog 10 bit Inputs per cluster. Power: 24V.

Graphical method of programming.

Right now I use Siemens LOGO! PLC's and in general it's all I need but they do not have the remote I/O capability.

sounds like you just need to move up to a more functional plc in the siemens line. just call you local rep and he will be glad to go over this with you.

Spoke with Siemens - they do not offer CANbus functionality.

Why CANbus are you going to interface directly with another system or is it your preferred network for your remote IO.

Wago will do CANOpen, but not sure about the Marine approvals. Is this an interface to generator controllers?

I am tasked to create network based on CANbus.

One specific piece of equipment, Rudder Angle Indicator interfaces through CANopen and not another Network.

I need to set up network that matches it, hence it is CANopen.

For this network I need Controller and remote I/O's. Must be marine industry certified.

I found great hardware, Wago in particular but there is even better fitting to what I need; none of it Marine Certified.

Some Modicon controllers like Modicon M340 are marine certified but it looks like they just offer capability to be interfaced with CANopen network, not to be it's controller. No matching I/O's. No development platform for CANopen.

its a gateway but at least it gets you closer to having a comm link between your siemens and can bus. Maybe this manufacturer can get you their, give them a call.

try this just googled it and there you go. Usually Prosoft has a gateway but no dice, must not be a demand.

Wago has can bus and have used it before for io. I dont think you can go wrong with their products.

Have you come across STW Technic ESX controller? It supports fully CANOpen. I have been working with it for sometime already.
