Anybody try it? I'm told during the holidays some labs will run Christmas music through their electrodynamic shaker for the festivities.

Never tried it. We had a suspended body-in-white attached to a shaker many years ago. Would have made a brilliant loudspeaker.

We were going to do it yesterday, but we ran out of time. My technician has done it before so he is going to set it up so it would be ready to go when we get back from the holidays.

...we did it all the time, especially during either Xmas or "Open House" days to wow the kids.

This sounds like great Christmas fun - by next Christmas I expect to have a BIW to test, and with luck, a new shaker as well!

Hello folks,
I'm new to this forum and I saw the comments on running music through a shaker. We have "Bring your kid to work day's" every year and I'm always looking for more goofy stuff to do with the Test Lab Equipment.(That's easier on the ears than Delta II vibration) Some music through the shaker would be a good learning tool. Any connection tips.
Have MB C-150 w/ Spect.Dyn. Jaguar Ctrl System.

Thanks

1) Make an RCA to BNC lead.

2) Plug RCA output from stereo into signal input on shaker controller.

3) Play music

4) adjust gain.

I bet the guy right center of frame pretty much wiped the paint off the car while this was going on.

I haven't done it yet, but my techs say to make sure the volume on the radio is turned all the way down when you start out and bring it up slowly.
