ISO 15156 Para 7.1.2 allows "The steels described or listed in A.2 are considered resistant to SSC ..." and A.2.1.3 mentions forgings ASTM A105 and wrought fittings ASTM A234 WPB and WPC to be acceptable steel grade without SSC testings so long as hardness are met.

My questions would be as follow for sour service :
1) Are LTCS forgings such as A350 LF2 and LTCS wrought steel fittings A420 Gr WPL6 etc also considered SSC-resistant ?
2) For welding involving these type of fittings, are SSC testing required for welding qualification ?

Recommended for you

1) Yes if they meet the chemical composition, heat treatment, and hardness limitations of ISO 15156-2

2) No, unless
- the weld zone and parent material fail to meet the requirements of ISO 15156-2

Or

The end user requires such testing
