We have had SolidWorks since 2001 and I just now have been able to convince our company to implement PDM Works. The problem is our network system uses virtual servers. Solidworks does not support PDM Works using virtual servers. Our Var was here and he could not get the PDM to talk to the virtual servers. Has anyone been able to run PDM Works on a virtual server or are we out of luck.

Help!!!

Bryan,
I cannot answer your question about virtual servers. PDM Works will run on any PC. If I were you I would put the vault on a PC (that gets backed up) and share the drive.

Our IT Dept installed 2008 PDM Works on a virtual server. It is up & operational, but we only have a few dozen files in it. Our senior engineers are reluctant to learn the vault, and so it goes by mostly unused.

CADFlyer what operating system are you using for your server. Thanks for the help.

CADFlyer do you know what version of the virtual server your IT department is running PDMWorks on??. Is it either VMWare or Microsoft Virtual Server? Thanks for the help.
