Pattern along cylinder?

Hi, i have a half a cylinder that i would like to pattern a series of holes, but where the cylinder curved i would like the cutout to be orientated only the curve not just on one plane. any ideas how to do this?

iv also tried circler pattern which seem to work but i want the patern all the way down the curve and i cant see a way of doing this.

Make a linear pattern of the circular pattern.
