Is there an easy way to tell if a part family member is out of date? It appears that information->assemblies->Family Report only mentions out of date if there is some sort of selection criteria. For those members that do not have selection criteria it does not state if they child is out of date or not. I ran a report on a test assembly where I know the members are all out of date and this is what I get. I am on NX 8.5 with Enovia as the PLM.

Part Name Component Name Family Member Information

Block-1 BLOCK-1 No family member selection criteria
Block-1 BLOCK-1 No family member selection criteria
Block-1 BLOCK-1 No family member selection criteria
Block-1 BLOCK-1 No family member selection criteria
Block-1 BLOCK-1 Current part is the only valid family member, which is out of date
Block-2 BLOCK-2 No family member selection criteria

Have you tried with Information menu/Assemblies/Update Report?
I did the test now, with adding a Part Family member. It was placed so, that I have selected the master file and select the member through Choose Family Member dialog. Then, I have changed the master model and did not update members. This report has then given me the following message in the test assemby:
Out of date with respect to part family "master.prt"
Next, I have created all the members from master part ('create parts' option in Excel/Add Ins). I have placed one of those parts in the assembly. Then, I have done a change to the master model again and did not update members. With Information/Assemblies/Update report I received the same error message:
Out of date with respect to part family "master.prt"

Does this option helps you somehow?

Thanks, that helps when you have the template loaded in your session, but what if I don't have it loaded?

Here is what I have done now:
1. opened the assembly with Partial Loading turned on.
2. when the assembly is opened, I have clicked with right mouse button on the Part Family Member and selected Open/Component Fully.
3. Then, I have clicked on Assemblies/Components/Part Family Update
4. Now, I have clicked on Information/Assemblies/Update Report
Now, I have received the message about members not being updated (mentioned in the first reply).

Anyway, I don't think, that it will be possible to get this info, if the members are not fully loaded. But then again, maybe I am wrong about this. :)
