I want to remove a load bearing wall ( 16 x 8 ). My question are: what size of the beam, the size and the qualities of posts and the spaces between post.

This isn't the sort of "bearing" data that I normally deal with. But it would depend on the material of the wall, the load it has to bear etc.

My best suggestion is to get a structural engineer to do some drawings for you. It will help later when you have the building inspector round.

Doing this kind of work without a certificate can make a building harder to sell and therfore lower its value.

I hope this helps

Not to mention give you a headache when you airball the answer based on bad data and wild approximations and the ceiling collapses on your head.
