Hello All,

I need to buy below O-rings for a project and I can’t find a supplier to buy them. Can you check these sizes/specs and let me know if I am missing something? What is so special about these O-rings?

350 x 5.7mm spliced and vulcanized EPDM 80 durometer o-ring

160mm x 5.7mm spliced and vulcanized EPDM 80 durometer o-ring

530mm x 5.7mm spliced and vulcanized EPDM 80 durometer o-ring

507mm x 5.7mm spliced and vulcanized EPDM 80 durometer o-ring

It could be one of 2 options

They can't supply the hardness you are asking for - you could ask what hardness they can supply

They can't supply the section.

There is one 'standard' size o-ring that could be used. Instead of 160mm, you could try to ask for a 159.30 (Size reference G160).

Thanks Robertib. Is 80 durometer O-ring not common? What about the bigger O-rings? Are they totally out of range? Can O-ring stock cord be supplied and we can cut and glue the o-ring? Is that reliable?

It appears that EPDM in any form at 80 durometer is not common.

Where did the 80 durometer requirement come from?

Where did you come up with these sizes and specs? Not from a readily available catalog, apparently.

Since they are all 5.7mm you could buy cord stock and make them.
Build a small jig so that you get exact miter cuts.
And a way to hold them aligned when you glue them.

I would hesitate to give the OP any advice about how to "make" custom o-rings without a better understanding of the application. Is it static or dynamic? Speed and direction? Pressure range? Media? Temperature? Critical application?

Or change the dimensions of the related part features so a standard o-ring will work.
