Thanks.

6Sigma,

My quick search of their drawing did not reveal a positional tolerance to go with their basic dimension. I suggest a thorough search of their drawing, followed by a phone call if necessary.

so in lieu of a positional tolerance call out then the tolerances within the title block are the controlling values?

6_Sigma,

The box around the width dimension tells me there is a feature control frame on the drawing somewhere. Using a drawing note to control positional tolerances (unless otherwise specified) is perfectly valid. I didn't read through the notes.

The phone call should be to Amp, not to me.[ ][smile]

I think Yunx.liu and Ly.yi need to take a course in GD&T.

LOL! That's what I was thinking when I submitted the initial question, I haven't worked with GDT in over a decade and am very rusty hence the need for alternative opinions.

Thanks all for support.

38.94 mm dim. has a tol. of +/-0.25mm as stated in the block. Nothing wrong here.

Since there is nothing relating the datums, they features they are based on can be up to 5 degrees from each other.

It would be nice if the tolerance text size wasn't smaller than the nominal values. Is that text somehow less important?

On the upper right corner of the drawing there is something that looks like mating part.
There are 2 holes 1.30 DIA, 38.94 mm apart, with general tolerance of +/-0.05.

Technically, this may be enough to calculate value for missing position tolerance.

And juergenwt, block tolerance applies "unless otherwise specified", and once you specify "basic", you DO specify otherwise.

Are any of the position FCF that they remembered to put on the drawing even valid?
