I've been searching for a bit now through industrial suppliers with no results. I need a threaded steel stud that can connect to two different thread sizes on its opposite end (5/8"-11 to 1/2"-13). I've found connectors and couplers but I would prefer a single piece of rigid metal. Perhaps this is something that needs to be custom machined but I may as well ask. Any leads are appreciated, thanks.

Do you need a male(double ended stud)or female connector?

What material?

How many?
If it is small number your best bet is a local machine shop.

Yes, i should have mentioned that, male-male double ended, any type of high strength steel will do although preferably stainless, and I will be needing just 4. Thanks.

Have them made at a local machine shop.

I have to echo DDRSS10's post that your best bet is a local machine shop.

If they can't thread a double ended stud you can get a 5/8-11 Class II 304/316 SS stud of the required length and turn one end down to 1/2-13.

I know this sounds too obvious but if your connecting these two female ends with male studs then I would think one end might be left hand thread and the other right hand, something to check before you get to the machine shop.

I'm not a real engineer, but I play one on T.V.
