May i have interperttion of ASME SEC 1 Table PW-11.
We have HRSG (heat recovery steam generator),and in the drawing, designer specifies a limit of ASEM SEC 1 scop and AME B31.1(Power Piping.
my question is:what will be the NDE requirement for Piping fall under ASEM SEC1,As per Table PW-11 required volumetric examination of Butt joints is:
(Contain steam)
>NPS16(DN400) or
>41mm thick
if my interpretation is not wrong then, NDE is required, when either size or thickness is exceeded.and below the limit NDE is not required.
My client pushing for 100 % NDE for piping scope fall under ASME SEC 1,
