Hi Guys

I am working on Dental Impression Dispensing System. It consist of two impression material and Tip to mix the two materials. Tip has 12 mixing elements like motionless mixer. I have the following data:

Material viscosity: 741000 centipose
Volumetric flow rate: 0.0177 gallon/minute
Mass flow rate: 10.32 pound/hour
Inside diameter of mixer: 0.25inch
Mixing elements: 12 (each element is spiral, opposite to each other)

I need to calculate the pressure drop (delta P). If someone know how to calculate the pressure drop in these case, i will really appreciate it.

Thanks

The answer to your question depends on the specific design of the static mixer elements. The shape of the spiral,( sharpness of the curves and transitions) will affect the pressure drop through the mixing elements. If possible, your best bet is to contact the manufacturer of the mixer with the information on your application. They should be able to provide you with the information you need.
