hi, sorry but my english is basic so...

I have a question: I created well sewage in patran, then I mesh it:) loads(equation) were taken from european norm of load soil, so I have some results (displacement, stress) but the well displace unnaturally. I mean that there isn't reaction from soil, MY QUESTION how to modelling the soil by FEM, by stiffness of soil or create cube with hole to well and use poisson and young modulus for soil type?

thanks for any tips:)

Hi Bastek,

-Related to the first option, do you mean to model it with Springs?

-Related to the second option, do you mean to model it with 3D Elements?

I would choose the second option. I would insert the tensile modulus as a function because i dont think that the soil behaves as a linear material. Afterwards i would run a nonlinear static analysis.

Anyway i would investigate a little bit more about what the soil is made of.

Hi,
model it with Springs->
for every node in my mesh model i want to define spring in patran
so i need stiffnes soil for ex sand I can't find it anywhere
so that is negative sign this method ;/

2nd method, YES 3D model, cube with hole and well put it. cube with sand properties, well with plastic properties

SO WHERE I CAN FIND sand STIFFNESS :) or how i can determine it??

thx for answer and sorry for my english:)
